GERMAN AND JOB SEARCH
Are you looking for a job in Germany and would therefore like to improve your German? There are two steps to a successful job application. First, submitting excellent documents to support your application, and second, convincing employers you are the right person for the job during the interview. Alongside the German course in the morning, we will help you to put together an application portfolio and prepare yourself for the job interview. You should allow one week for the course German + Job Applications and one week for the course German + Interviews when planning your stay.
4. 1 German + Job Applications
To be successful in your job application, you need to adopt a targeted approach to the application process and put together strong documents supporting your application. These will include a cover letter or letter of motivation, and a convincing CV. On this course, we not only give you valuable tips on your application, but also help you to create a professional application portfolio. We work together to determine which application documents you need and decide how best to present them. We show you how to find employers of interest and how to reach out to them. We discuss factors you should consider when starting work in Germany and a great deal more.
While you will learn with your German teacher in the mornings, in the afternoons you will work with an experienced trainer who specialises in job applications. This training in job applications can also be conducted online via Skype. A summary can be found here. Read More
Example: weekly timetable with full board
As a rule, you will arrive on Sunday afternoon and leave on Saturday morning. One week is usually sufficient to prepare your application. If you wish to stay for a second week, you can book an additional course, e.g. German and Interviews (pdf), Business German or one of the German & LIFESTYLE courses, such as German & WINE.
This course consists of 20*45 minutes of 1-to-1 German lessons in the morning plus 8*45 minutes of application training on 4 afternoons. In addition, there are practice sessions including meals with your teacher and social time at home, in a brewery or a beer garden. There will also be time for leisure activities. Whether you like sightseeing, taking walks or going out to the cinema or to a concert, your teacher will be happy to arrange activities that suit you and your interests. At all times you will be hearing German around you and will be speaking in very natural situations – that’s what makes the Home Tuition program such an experience.
